Volunteers

Welcome to our volunteers page

Please check this page to see volunteer opportunities at the Monastery. We offer community volunteer hours for high school students. Also volunteering at the monastery is a great way to connect with the community and to acquire new skills. You can sign-up today and, we will contact you when an opportunity arises.

Katina Ceremony

WWBMMC

This is our biggest event of the year. We rely much on community support to build a Pirith Mandapaya, Sewing Katina robe, Arrange the hall, organize Dana offerings for monks and lay participants, transport from and to monastery etc…

Gardening

Monastery is located on a spacious piece of land. Devotees are invited to help with designing and landscaping the front yard. There is also a vegetable patch. You are invited to get involved to learn and grow organic fresh vegetables.

Monastery Cleaning

Every year we organize a spring and a fall clean-up event at the monastery which include indoor & outdoor decluttering, organizing and deep cleaning. There is also a cleanup after every event. Many helping hands make these chores go fast.

Summer Camp

We are always looking for volunteers to help with the organization and running of summer camp for youth. The number of participants is growing each year. Therefore the volunteer opportunities are also growing.

Dhamma School

We are actively seeking volunteers to facilitate/teach Dhamma classes.
Dhamma School will be held on Sundays starting at 2:00 p.m.
During the pandemic, Dhamma School will be held via Zoom. Once the pandemic restrictions are lifted, Dhamma School will be held at the monastery.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help our future generation to gain life skills through Buddhist teachings, you are cordially invited to join the team.
